In the 5th of a turnaround there's a scale I haven't ID'd some bluesmen throw in which is a step up for me. Maybe I should listen to more blues first but I was hoping you might know what I'm getting at. Anyway, peace.
Honestly, I only use the major and minor pentatonic scales. And then target chord tones around those scales. And that does create other scale types, but I don’t know the names of them. But thanks a lot for checking out the video. Happy new year Ross.

Rusty, just letting you know, another stellar lesson, I think the takeaway from my perspective is that the g7 movable shape into the 1-4-5 -(c7-d7) when you played it , you grabbed a piece of the scale (a few notes ) from each to complete the progression, I think the important thing is that realize the triads from the chords you are playing and use them to help express the phrasing and use the pentatonic with them to really open the fret board-- let me say to anyone reading my comment, that I've been watching Rusty over the past year or so , but what I just stated is a combination of this lesson and prior lessons that Rusty provided me , so I'm just reiterating as a whole , but if you watch him , you will get better, and understand the concept of playing guitar....Thank you Rusty , God bless you in the new year...cub

I started with your pattern. Then found two things. First to scale up, then down using triplets helps me to improve fluidity. Second using the g7 barred on the third fret (E7 barred) as an anchor position to help me to move the scaling to different tonal positions. Thanks again for your tips/lesson. God Bless

Started playing around with G 7 arpeggio and the C arpeggio and im digging it dude lol then throwing in some other G and C chords and the G minor scale, C mimor scale Would the G major scale work with this? Kinda got a Beatles day tripper vibe going, I added in the Db note in the G minor scale, so the blues scale and fits great.😀

What is the correct music term when ascending in major pentatonic and descending in minor pentatonic? There is a musical term that classical theory books call this something
@@waynegram8907 are you thinking of the melodic minor scale? The raised sixth appears in the ascending form of the scale (or Dorian w/#7) while the lowered seventh appears in the descending form of the scale (Aeolian).
@ross3818 yes in classical composers theory books this is the RULE to ascend using the melodic minor scale but descending in aeolian minor scale. In blues tonality they often will ascend using major pentatonic but descending in minor pentatonic. There must be a musical term for doing this?
